Fun fact: In my first job out of college, I had to got to fundraise my own salary.

I didn’t have access to wealthy donors or big gift networks. But what I did have was a community of people my age who cared about important causes. Problem was, they were working entry-level jobs, paying rent, and paying off student loans.

So I asked for small monthly gifts from peers interested in the cause. And pretty quickly, it worked. It taught me how powerful, consistent, and accessible giving can be when people feel connected and valued, even if they’re only giving a little at a time.

Fast forward to now: I’ve spent over a decade working in comms across nonprofits and for-profit businesses, where recurring revenue was the north star metric.

And along the way, I’ve done juuust about everything in communications. Fundraising appeals. Press releases. Newsletters. Email strategy. Web copy. Social content. Ads. You name it.

That range of experience helps me build innovative monthly giving programs today that move the needle in the right direction.

I’m also a monthly donor myself and a committed volunteer. I care deeply about helping missions grow while keeping philanthropy accessible to people at every income level.

When I’m not thinking about donor retention, I’m probably watching Bluey with my daughter or exploring the Pacific Northwest that I get to call home.
